Ben Roche, Director

Ben was educated at Scotch College and went on to complete a Bachelor of Commerce and a Masters of eCommerce, at Bond University (QLD). Ben then joined his family’s business, Roche Holdings, as an Investment Analyst reviewing private equity opportunities, listed stocks and property development. Ben’s previous experience with his family-run business, Roche Brothers (the largest contract mining group in Australia), also resulted in the development of his superior skills in the utilization of heavy-duty equipment to optimal advantage, making his Directorship of VGA, since 2007, a perfect fit. Ben’s very proud to be leading his team to great heights of excellence in the field of Tree Care and Maintenance. Ben is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization.

Dean Grant, Chief Operational Officer

Dean commenced with VGA in July 2016 as the Chief Operational Officer. He brings to the company 34 years’ experience in Managing Arboricultural contracts in the local Government and commercial markets. The focus for Dean is to deliver a Quality service which is unmatched by our competitors and to perform the work safely and in a professional manner.

Niall Robinson, Financial Controller

Niall oversees the finance & accounting function and joined VGA in 2016. He is a member of Chartered Accountants Ireland and brings over 20 years of experience in Australia and Ireland. Niall has previously worked with Baxter International and Ulster Bank in Ireland.

Shae, Office Manager

Shae commenced with VGA in late 2011, as a Junior Administration Assistant, since then Shae progressed onto becoming a senior member of the Management team as an office Manager. Shae is responsible for the administration team and has recently completed her Diploma in Human Resources which will bring a stronger HR culture into the business.

Cameron Mcneil, Operations Manager

Cameron joined VGA in 1996, as a Tree Climber, and progressed to the position of Estimator. His dedication to the company saw him appointed Operations Manager in early 2012. Cameron has extensive experience, knowledge and qualifications within the Arboriculture Industry, having worked both on and off the field, in multiple roles with us. He knows the business from the ground up and is, now, responsible for organizing and managing the day-to-day requirements of VGA. Cameron has a Certificate III of Arboriculture.

David McDonald, Operations Manager

David joined VGA in 2010 , as a tree climber and progressed to the position a Team Leader in a short period of time . David has since moved on to becoming one of our Operations Managers. David has vast experience, knowledge and qualifications within the Arboriculture Industry including his Level 5 Diploma in Arboriculture and Level 5 Certificate in Leadership. David has played a pivotal role in the expansion of VGA over the recent years. David currently manages the City of Whitehorse reactive tree contract and manages the Powercor/Citipower and United Energy vegetation pruning teams to comply with a strict safety and compliance systems.

Leidy Pastrana-Martinez, Quality, Safety and Compliance Officer

Leidy Joined VGA in 2021 as our Quality, Safety and Compliance Officer. Leidy has a considerable amount of experience in the area of Occupational Health & Safety. Equipped with her knowledge in design, execution and implementation of OH&S policies and procedures Leidy holds her Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety. Leidy understands the safety compliance within the tree industry and provides advice and clarity to the business to ensure we achieve a high standard of safety compliance but more importantly the business has a culture of safety day in and day out.
